Finding Certainty In Uncertain Times

How do we navigate through times of uncertainty when it feels like the world is spinning upside down, and we can't find something to hold onto? When "gaslighting" lies are a daily occurrence, when news outlets tell us how to believe rather than just reporting current events, and when crime is excused while standing for justice is punished—where can one turn? We seem to be bombarded with the pursuit of more—money, a bigger house, more cars, etc. Where does one turn? It seems that God has become a four-letter word, and building a case to dismiss God is fashionable. Society appears to be offended by everything but allows crime to be excused. We seem to be offended by everything and yet are not offended by trashing things that are holy. The place to find truth is in prayer, becoming a part of a church, and seeking God even if it's unpopular. Even when we feel like we are standing alone, perhaps mocked for doing so, it remains the one constant truth throughout the ages. Those who have a life of prayer and live by the "Good Book" travel lighter, equipped with the best GPS to navigate life. Conversely, I can stand on the sidelines, watch, wait, complain, and not take a peaceful stand for what I believe. If I stand quiet for what I believe in, I will stop believing in it. God has given us all a measure of faith (Romans 12:3); what I do with it is up to me. If I receive a plant and never give it sun and water, it will wither away and die. Am I cultivating my faith? Now we can say, "I'll do it tomorrow," and tomorrow repeats until it's too late. To quote: "Know the Truth, and the Truth will set me free." Chop wood, carry water.
